About me

I'm Lorna Rose, and by day, I work in the tech industry — but at my core, food has always been my love language. I’ve always been fascinated by the magic with which a dish can make you feel a deep sense of joy, connect you to a memory, or simply bring people together around a table.

Growing up in beautiful Mauritius, food was never just about eating. It was about connection, celebration, and heritage. From the bold, comforting flavors of home-cooked meals to the thrill of discovering something new, I’ve always believed that the best way to experience a place is through its food.

Happy Bellies is my little corner of the world where I explore and share the places that make my heart (and stomach) happiest. Whether it's a perfectly pulled espresso that fuels my morning, a family-run spot that deserves more love, or a dish that stops me in my tracks, I want to tell the stories that make you want to seek out your own food adventures and offer you recipes that help bring the magic home too.

When I’m not working, writing or eating my way through a city, I’m probably making snacks for two kids, walking my overenthusiastic Labradoodle, or planning my next trip — because great food and great experiences with our loved ones make life a whole lot more fun.
